Happy Halloween from the Chilean fjords, heading for the Drake Passage!  We are well on our way to Antarctica, navigating the last of the fjords before going back to the open sea, across the infamous Drake passage.

We were potentially going to stop at Cape Horn and tender to shore, but the weather conditions prevented us from doing so.  Only 10% of expedition ships get to stop at Cape Horn as the area is known for having volatile weather conditions at the drop of a hat, so while disappointed of course, we were not surprised that we were unable to stop.

As day 11 winds down, we dropped off our Chilean pilots and begin entering the Drake…  (insert appropriate lighting and storm noises here for your imagination)

Again, sorry, no pictures for the sea day as we didn’t want to be repetitive of the fjords (they all look kinda similar), and once we are on open sea, the schedule shows 2 days to cross the Drake, so likely no pictures later either.

Cheers.
